Country Music
Country music includes a wide range of music evolving from ballads and folk melodies and made its mark in the early twentieth century. It is often referred to as "western", "hillbilly", "country" or "country and western" music. The music that is identified as country music is a mixture of cultures and traditional music patterns. Earlier it was popular with the rural people in the west and south, but today it is enjoyed people not only in the United States, but also globally. The earlier musicians and singers of country music were the pioneers, but sadly, not all were lucky enough to be recognized as stars.
The stars of today's country music use modern-day beats, but the beats are acclimatized from the earlier versions. In earlier classical country music, the artists developed an individual character to suit their voice intonation and style. The songs were all different and so were the styles. For instance Roy Acuff laid the foundation of country music and was referred to as the "King of Hillbilly music" with hits like "The Wreck on the Highway", "The Precious Jewel" and many others. The songs by him are evergreen, unique and inimitable.
Other distinguished country singers include Moe Bandy, Hoyt Axton, Lynn Anderson, Vince Gill etc. Country singer Vernon Dalhart made a major contribution to country music with the all time hits, "The Prisoner's Song" and "The Wreck of Old 97". Classic country music is easy to understand and has a rhythmic beat that can be very alluring. Some of the country music hits include "He stopped Loving Her", by George Jones, "Crazy" by Patsy Cline, "Your Cheating Heart" by Hank Williams and "Galveston" by Glen Campbell. Country music ranges from wedding songs, country gospel, road songs and mainly love songs.
Today, the best country music songs come from Garth Brooks and Travis Tritt. The songs are popular and revive the old times because of the similar style. The number of country music enthusiasts is rising steadily and with the Internet at hand, there is a big collection of country music that is easily accessible to every user.
