Consumer Electronics

The United States is a leading country in the consumer electronics/technology industry. How many consumer electronics products do you have in your home? How many computers, TVs, VCRs are just sitting in a corner taking up space because you don't know what to do with them? One choice for your wasting computer electronics is repairing them.

Investigate if your product is still under warranty or extended service contract. Consumer electronic repair shops can help you with this. Was there a re-call on your product? Again, your local repair shop can help you with this. If no such re-call or warranty exists on your product, it is time to investigate repairing at your own cost.

Some consumer electronics repair shops will provide free estimates, or at least an hourly service rate. Once you have decided to repair, ask other questions of the repair specialist. If the particular consumer electronic is a PC can yours be upgraded? No need to purchase new if yours can be upgraded. Don't forget to consider if all your software will still run once you upgrade.

What if the computer electronics in question is a gaming system? It functions perfectly, but you want the model. Don't store it, donate it! There are many places that would gladly accept any and all computer electronics. Did you know if you donate to your local salvation army it can be tax deductible. Homeless shelters, group homes, local schools, churches, and abuse victim advocates, will accept donated consumer electronics. Your old cell phone can be used as a 911 only phone if donated to an abuse advocacy group. As the saying goes "One man's trash is another man's treasure."

There are many options to take care of the consumer electronics cluttering your home. The choice is yours.
