Day Diet
Looking for a two or three day diet? There are some out there. Be aware two and three day diets should not be used for more than the recommended period of time. These diets drastically reduce calorie intact and would pose a health risk if continued for longer periods of time. That being said there are those who choose to follow a 2 or 3 day diet plan to jump start a long term diet or to simply look good for that all important class re-union. I am certain, however, that most physicians would not recommend such a drastic calorie cut.
The most popular two day diet dates back to the late 1960's. This two day diet claims users will lose 5-6 pounds in two days. The two day diet calls for no salt, no seasonings, no sweeteners and no carbonated beverages. In fact the only things you are allowed to drink are black coffee or tea (one cup with every meal) and seven glasses of water. (You cannot put any flavoring in the water.) On the two day diet you eat a total of three hard boiled eggs, one 4oz hamburger and 1 leaf of lettuce all day. As you can clearly see, it would be unhealthy to stay on the two day diet for more than two days.
The most popular three day diet has been around since the late 1980???s. Again there is nothing magical here, just a drastic and severe cut in calories. As in the two day diet, it is impossible to imagine that the three day diet would be recommended by physicians. It offers slightly more variety of solid foods and again only black tea or coffee to drink. The three day diet is especially concerning in that it does not require additional water intake. Three cups of coffee to drink for a full day is simply not sufficient hydration.
A two or three day diet may jump start your diet, but the best overall diet is one that involves proper nutrition and exercise.
