Finding The Right Employment Agency

If you, like many today, are job hunting, you may have considered utilizing the services of an employment agency. Maybe the resumes you dropped off just aren't producing the phone calls you think they should. On the other hand, perhaps you just want to speed up the process of finding a job. At any rate, these firms can be immensely supportive in helping you find the job or career of your dreams, but before you choose the first employment agency you see in the phone book, carefully evaluate what each firm has to offer you.

Find an employment agency that works with companies in your area of interest. There are basically three kinds of agencies out there - those that represent companies with temporary positions, those literally help you look for any job, and those that work within a specific industry. If you're looking for a long term career, a temp agency isn't the place to go. Similarly, if you're looking for fast food work, it's probably best not to approach an employment agency that only deals with the health care profession.

Find an employment agency that is free. While many people will extol the benefits of paid agencies, it can be hard to justify laying down a few hundred dollars to find a job when you don't have one, and some of the best firms in the country won't charge you a dime to get you the work that you need. Many of them work on commissions from employers, and if at all possible, that's the best type of employment agency to deal with.

The right employment agency can get you the job you want in just a matter of days, so be sure to evaluate your choices carefully.
